Yes, we are blessed to have our gardens. With the price of food, it is especailly nice to just go out and pick greens for a lunch salad, and to gather enough veggies for a nice dinner. I love it! Other than the asparagas, there isn't anything to gather yet. However, with our early start, it won't be long, as so many things are above ground now. I am attending a brunch tomorrow and am going to take a couple loaves of rhubarb bread, using my own rhubarb. It is a delicous loaf!
Wishing you a great week, Carla.
Hugs, Rita

Hi Carla,
It is raining right now, so I am NOT in the
garden. Yes, we have planted some early veggies.
We have lettuce (two types), spinach, kohlrabi,
peas, and green beans already in the ground. The
lettuce, spinach and peas are already "up" thanks
to the warmer temperatures this spring. However,
we spent a lot of time covering everything for a
few days, thanks to some freezing cold nightime
temps. I think I will be able to bake a rhubarb
pie real soon, and my herbs are beautiful, thanks
again to a mild winter. We will plant more veggies
the first of May, but I will hold off on my basil
until the end of May. It is the one herb that never
does well for me, especially when it is chilly. Oh
yeah, we are already enjoying fresh asparagas. I
love it...steamed, baked or just cut up in my salad.
I would like to try growing some raspberries, but I
am afraid that it would be a constant struggle to keep
the birdies out of them, and I do so love attracting
birds to my yard. So, given the choice, I will keep
feeding the birds and buy my berries. lol What types
of things do you grow, Carla?
Hugs, Rita
