Hi =) I use paint shop pro and animation shop to make my graphics. You have to pay for paint shop but you can get the 30 day free trial first to make sure you really like it. Animation shop 3 is free now though. You can google them to find out where to download them. I started out by using lunapic.com. It's a free website but you are very limited as to what you can do as far as glitters but they do have a lot of fonts to work with and it's a good place to start learning. Paint shop is a little harder to use but once you understand it all it becomes a lot easier. You can also take classes online for Paint shop and they are free. I took some at web tech university and I'm still taking them lol =) I hope I have helped you out some with the info and I also added you to my friends.
