I am going to constantly remind liberals that, according to their logic, the Lewinsky saga caused 9-11. You may find that silly on the face of it. If you adopt the mainstream liberal talking points, however, it is an inescapable truth:
1. The liberal mantra: WE cause terror by our actions--terror is a response to OUR aggression.
2. Then, according to your thought process, WE must have done something to bring 9-11 upon ourselves. What preceded this attack on America?
3. In 1998, two days before Monica was to testify in front of the Grand Jury, Bill Clinton made a sudden and preemptive diversion from his 'law enforcement' approach to the Middle East. He bombed The Sudan and Afghanistan, an act that was the first and only such response to those two countries. The ruling religious leaders specifically mentioned Monica by name, chiding Clinton that the tail was wagging the dog.
4. Again in 1998, in a clear exception to years of allowing Saddam to shoot at our planes and refuse to allow inspectors in, Bill Clinton fired missiles into Iraq. His reason: WMD--specifically 'nuclear and biologocal weapons of mass destruction.' Done once, he never attacked Iraq again. Saddam also very specifically noted Bill's Monica problems as the reason for the strikes. Who wouldn't? This one and only attack in Iraq was two days before the impeachment vote. No strategy preceded or followed this headline grabbing diversion.
5. 9-11 followed within two years. The plan was adopted, and the hijackers were operational in America while Clinton was in office.
Based on liberal logic: The Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky affair led to 9-11. This would explain why Bill Clinton initially supported Bush when we went in. Google it. He wanted validation that there was a need to do so--that his decisions were legitmate, as well. Bill intially supported Bush and linked his missile attacks in the same mix. In time, he walked away from that. My memory is good, even without Google.
