I respect all beings, not just those considered lower than ourselves. The mentality of viewing non-human animals as being lesser worth to human life is disgusting. As for euthanizing animals, there are far too many animals and not enough demand for companion animals. A lot of people would rather buy a purebred cat or dog rather than adopting from a shelter. These shelters are forced to euthanize animals due to the overpopulation crisis. If you want them to stop killing then never, ever patronize pet stores or breeders. Until people get over their materialistic desires for particular breeds, cats and dogs will die because of our greed and ignorance.
