LMFAO are you serious? Before you tell me to "learn what it is first" maybe YOU should open your eyes and actually read what I say on anti-emo icons and learn a bit about who you're talking to first. I know it's a music genre. The only reason I hate the emo label so much is because I am a fan of that genre! Rites of Spring, Embrace, Gray Matter. Check my music list, you'll find them all there. So really, I am emo. I've been emo for years. Never called myself emo, of course, because if you'd done your research you'd know that the original bands hated being called emo. It was an INSULT to them and their fans. And that's why people that label themselves emo and do cut themselves or act sad all the time piss me off so much. Because it's all so fake. Even if they are seriously depressed or whatever, they're calling themselves a word they don't even know what it means, a word that is actually meant to be insulting. And if you don't know what the word you're labeling yourself means, you shouldn't use it. And anyone who does know what it means wouldn't use it because they'd know it is and has always been an insult. So the kids that label themselves emo are all fake, if not in their depression then certainly in their pretending to know what emo is. And that's what I can't stand. So no, emo is not being yourself. Emo is being exactly the same as everybody else: ignorant.

So please do not try to tell me "the truth about emo" because I know it way better than you do, dearie.
