my name is Gretchen Wilson i was born 6-26-73. i was born in Pocahontas, Illinois to my 16-year old mother, i droped out of high school in the ninth grade. Me and my ex-boyfriend Mike Penner have a daughter named Grace Frances Penner she was born November 9, 2000. i was on my own at age 15, singing at kmart and at local bars. thats when i met john rich i give him all my thanks without him i wouldnt be who iam today! I hope to meet some of my fans on here, i wont be on much because well u should know, but i promis ill check this when i can. this is a qustion alot of people ask me in interviews, and some of my fans aske the same general qustion.
Q-You have a special realtionship with Big and Rich. How did that come about?
my answer-John Rich of Big & Rich would come in the club where I tended bar. He and Big Kenny heard me sing one night. He came up to me with his cowboy hat and duster and said, ‘man, you’re good. How come you ain’t got a record deal?’ I thought he was just a wannabe cowboy singer, so I just threw a cd and business card at him and told him I was kinda busy but to call me if he was serious. I ignored his calls for a few months until a friend told me John used to be with Lonestar and now had a solo deal. I finally called him, and he started introducing me to songwriting friends and friends in the music business.

iam really glad to meet all of my fans on here on glitter-graphics, but iam sorry to say i will not be using glitter-graphics anymore. My manger says i have no time to be on here everyday. OMG I love you. i love counrty music in general but you are one of my favorite female vocalists. I have all of your songs completely memorized. I have done a few reports on you for school and read all I can about you. I don't want to seem like a stalker , I'm just a huge fan! I do have a question for you though. Why did you ask to be my friend? Its not that I don't want to be at all , but I don't make graphics or anything so I was just wondering why you chose me. But I would love to be added on your list.
