I awoke in a dark room.
Where the heck was I?
I banged on the wooden door, one which locked from the outside.
Then I began the scratch at it.
After about six minutes of this,
I realized the only progress I was making,
Was turning my fingers bloody.
I stood up.
A million questions raced through my head:
Why did they put me here?
Who is "they"?
And why did they want me?
Then the sewer gate opened a little.
"Emilie, come on," I heard John say.
I opened the gate:
pure dumb luck it was unlocked.
When I jumped down,
I realized it wasn't John at all.
